GoHighLevel
Integration - Connect Kickcall & Automate Phone Calls

The GoHighLevel integration connects your Kickcall account with GoHighLevel so you can bring AI-powered phone calls into your workflows. Once connected, you can trigger outbound calls from a GoHighLevel workflow, pass contact information into your Kickcall AI agent, and pull call details back to decide what happens next.
What you can build: lead follow-up, lead qualification, appointment reminders, patient follow-up, customer follow-up, sales outreach and any other workflow-based phone automation.
Step 1: Connect Kickcall to GoHighLevel
Before you build a phone call workflow, connect your Kickcall account to GoHighLevel. You need an active Kickcall account and a Kickcall API key.
Get your Kickcall API key
Log in to your Kickcall dashboard.
Go to API Keys in the left sidebar.
Create a new key, or copy an existing one.
Store the key securely - you will need it during the GoHighLevel connection.

Important: Treat your API key like a password. Never share it publicly or include it in screenshots, shared workflows or documentation.
Install Kickcall in GoHighLevel
Open the GoHighLevel Marketplace.
Find Kickcall AI.
Install the app on the sub-account where you want to use Kickcall.
Open the app configuration window: External Authentication Configuration → Kickcall AI.
Enter your Kickcall connection details (API key, email, name and account email).
Complete the authentication process.

Once the connection succeeds, Kickcall actions become available inside GoHighLevel workflows.
Step 2: Create a phone call workflow
Create a GoHighLevel workflow that will trigger the outbound call. Common triggers include:
A new contact is created
A lead submits a form
A contact receives a specific tag
An appointment is created, or its status changes
A lead enters a specific pipeline stage
A simple workflow looks like this: Check Warm Lead → Create Phone Call → Check Call Status → Update Contact.

Tip: Any GoHighLevel trigger that makes sense for your business will work. Kickcall is designed to sit inside your existing automation, not replace it.
Step 3: Configure the Create Phone Call action
Open your workflow and click Add Action.
Search for Kickcall and select Create Phone Call.
Fill in the required fields, add optional fields if needed, and save the action.

Required fields
Kickcall Location ID - the Kickcall location the call should be created under. For example, 196.
Kickcall Agent ID - the Kickcall AI agent that will handle the outbound call. For example, 1638.
To Number - the phone number Kickcall should call. Use the contact's raw number,
{{contact.phone_raw}}.
Important: Use {{contact.phone_raw}} rather than {{contact.phone}} wherever possible. The raw number preserves the international format required for dialling, for example +12345678900.
Copy your Location ID and Agent ID straight from the URL of the agent dashboard, as shown below.

Add dynamic variables
Use Kickcall LLM Dynamic Variables to pass information from GoHighLevel into the AI agent - the contact's name, appointment time, service type or anything else the agent should know before it speaks. Variables are supplied as JSON, so keep the syntax valid.
Step 4: Store the Interaction ID
When Create Phone Call runs successfully, Kickcall returns details about the new call, including the Interaction ID - the unique identifier for that call.
A typical pattern is: Create Phone Call → Condition (if status = queued) → Update Contact Field → store the Interaction ID. Saving it in a contact custom field gives you a reusable reference for later steps.
Important: Make sure the Interaction ID is stored successfully before you use it with the Get Call action.
Step 5: Retrieve call details
Use the Get Call action to pull information about a call you created earlier, such as:
Call status
Call duration
Call summary
Recording information
Transcript information
Call metadata and other available interaction details
Add a new action after your call step.
Search for Kickcall and select Get Call.
Enter the Kickcall Location ID and Agent ID.
Provide the Interaction ID - if you stored it on the contact, reference the field, for example
{{contact.kickcall_last_interaction_id}}.Save the action.

Step 6: Build your workflow automation
Everything returned by Get Call can feed GoHighLevel conditions and actions. Branch on call status, tag contacts who answered, update opportunity stages after a qualification call, or send a follow-up SMS when the agent leaves a voicemail.
Troubleshooting
Call failed to initiate - usually an incorrect or unsupported phone number format. Check the number includes a valid country code and use
{{contact.phone_raw}}.Authentication failed - the Kickcall API key is invalid or expired. Generate a new key in your Kickcall dashboard and reconnect the app in GoHighLevel.
Agent is not responding - the Agent ID is incorrect or the agent is inactive. Confirm the ID in your dashboard and make sure the agent is active.
Dynamic variables error - invalid JSON. Check for missing quotes, trailing commas or stray characters.
Get Call does not return the expected information - the Interaction ID is missing or incorrect. Confirm the ID returned by Create Phone Call was stored before Get Call runs.
If you still need help, submit a ticket to the Kickcall support team and include your Kickcall account email, the GoHighLevel sub-account, the workflow name, the Kickcall action being used, the Interaction ID, the error message and a screenshot of the action configuration. That detail lets the team resolve the issue much faster.
