Need a new phone number for your AI agents? Buy Number lets you buy a Twilio or Bandwidth number for your Business right from Telephony. This guide shows you how to pick and buy a number, then connect it to your agents.

Buy Number Overview

The Buy Number page in the Business Portal allows you to search for and purchase available phone numbers by country and area from the carriers assigned to your Business by your Agency, such as Twilio or Bandwidth.
Once purchased, the number appears in your Numbers list, where you can assign agents to handle inbound and outbound calls and SMS. Assigning an Inbound Call Agent is essential to ensure calls to the new number reach the appropriate agent.
This guide is intended for Business users who manage phone numbers.

Before you start

  • Your Agency must assign a carrier (Twilio or Bandwidth) to your Business.

  • Know the country and state or area code you want.

  • Have the agents you want to assign already set up.

Important notes

  • Each number has a monthly price, shown before you buy. Call and text usage is charged separately.

  • You only see the carriers your Agency has assigned.

  • To text from the number in the US, you also need A2P registration. See A2P Campaign.
