Forward calls from your Zoom Phone business line to your dedicated Kickcall AI phone number using a Zoom Auto Receptionist — no IT background needed.
Before you start
Admin access to your Zoom account (Phone System Management).
Your Kickcall AI phone number, ready to paste in.
Takes about 5 minutes.
Step 1 — Open Auto Receptionists
In your Zoom Admin Portal, go to Phone System Management → Auto Receptionists.
Select the Auto Receptionist you'd like to connect to Kickcall, or click Add to set one up just for this purpose.

Step 2 — Choose which calls go to Kickcall
Every Auto Receptionist has two call-handling schedules: Business Hours (when your team is available) and Closed Hours (everything else). Decide which one — or both — you'd like your Kickcall AI agent to answer. Many businesses start with Closed Hours, so the AI agent only picks up after-hours calls.
Click Edit next to the routing line for Business Hours or Closed Hours.

Step 3 — Set the destination to "Phone Number"
In the Routing Option window, open the Route to dropdown.
Select Phone Number — this forwards calls straight to your Kickcall number without adding it anywhere else first.

You'll also see an Auto Receptionist option in this dropdown — that's for routing calls between Auto Receptionists inside Zoom itself, not for connecting your Kickcall AI agent.
Step 4 — Enter your Kickcall number
Choose your country code and type in your Kickcall AI phone number.
Check the box acknowledging that forwarded calls are billed based on usage.
Click OK to save.

That's it — calls arriving during the hours you selected will now ring your Kickcall AI agent. Place a quick test call to confirm everything is routed correctly.
Setting up live transfers (optional)
If a caller asks to speak with a person, your Kickcall AI agent can transfer them. Since the agent calls out over the phone network, it can only dial a real phone number — never an internal Zoom extension directly. You have two good options for the transfer number:
Option A — A team member's direct number: give the AI agent a team member's own direct phone number. Works well for a small team or a single on-call contact.
Option B — A dedicated Auto Receptionist: create a second Auto Receptionist just for transfers and give it its own phone number. Zoom's internal routing then rings whichever extension, queue, or on-call staff you've set up behind it — handy if you want a custom greeting or different on-call staff by time of day.
Important — use a different number for transfers. The transfer number must be different from your main Zoom number (the one forwarding calls to Kickcall). If the AI agent transfers a call back to that same number, Zoom forwards it to Kickcall again, creating a loop instead of reaching a person.
What this does
Call forwarding redirects incoming calls from your Zoom Phone line to your Kickcall AI agent so it can answer customer inquiries — after hours, during your busiest moments, or any time you choose. Your Zoom number stays exactly the same; callers never see or need to know a different number exists.
